Fined For No Screen Wash Water

my son was fined by the police for having no water in the screen washer, they had a good look over the whole car for any others they could add as well. i thought it was a joke at first but no it was'nt.

see this one in the sun for what is even more of a joke.

i do know that he could have needed to clean the screen and would not be able, and new young drivers may need a good reminder (as in a fine) but where does it stop?

 

hopefuly he may even check his car a bit more regually now?

i had a look on the internet for any more gems but its not easy to find the things that may cost you a fine.

mmm my thinking aswell,but i remember being told of this years ago and wouldve thought it was taught more today as tests are meant to be a lot harder.

I have heard of this before...... easy way to avoid this happening again is to carry a small bottle of water (1/2 ltr is enough in the boot) and if ever in this situation again, then you can simply say....'it's obviously just run out....but i have water in the boot to top it up'.....then they cant do a thing !!..... ask your son if they checked the boot etc......... and if not....try to defend by saying you had the 'spare' water there at the time ....but forgot about it at the time due to the stress of being stopped etc etc ??
