Air Con Puddle Under Car

hello all

has a small puddle under the car after a short trip and using air con, should this be clean water or does it come from somewhere within the system, i tasted it and it has a very bitter taste but its nots blue green like the antifreeze it a clear colour.

car not lost any liquid , just a wondered thats all.

water vapour that gathers on the condensor, there is a drain on the engine bay firewall, a small rubber nipple like thing! known to block! then the water drips into the car! so its a good sign thats its dripping under the car ;) just reach up under the car when you get a chance? if its up on the ramps and give the drain a tweak! stop the slits sticking together and sealing the drain!

Perfectly normal. It's just water draining from the outside of the air con condenser (I think that's the right part).

 

If you look under the bonnet and look at the bulkhead, about two thirds to the right, you will see the drain. I put a small length of hose on mine so it drips directly onto the floor rather than running down the bulkhead.

 

It proves that your air con is working ;)

And, If like me, you have dual air con you will see another similar puddle under the left rear wheel arch where the secondary unit sits.
