ricaxy Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 Hi Guys, just like to say a big hello to you all on here and look forward to some chatty chatty with you. i wonder if any of you have had this problem and if so could you help me out please.i have a 1995 GLX it aint too bad but got a few niggles with it,first to get sorted is the drivers side front elec window, the actual switch dont do much, if i sit in the car with engine running and try to open window - NOTHING - the revs drop slightly and you can see that there is some load on engine but no movement in window, when i turn off engine (hey presto) it opens, but if i turn off the engine with the drivers door open it stays shut, ANY IDEAS please getting on my pip now, thanks i await for some good news hopefully. gregers Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 yeah it dont sound like the switch to me,but i could be wrong(normally am)but check inside the rubber boot by the pillar to the door,very commom problem of the wires breaking(lots of posts on the subject)try using the search bar top of forum page to see if any of your problems have been posted before,very handy if your after a quick response,most of the problems to do with these cars have at one point been covered.hth. ricaxy Posted August 31, 2009 Author Report Posted August 31, 2009 Hi gregers, yes mate ive looked there first thing i done after reading previous posts on window probs,theyjust dont seem to cover the problem im having, there are no cracked or chaffed wires there which made me wonder if there was any other causes, i have got power there and as i say works diferent when door is open and when door is closed it is a strange one, so if you know of anything it might be il be very interested to here about it.cheers and hope to here something that is a possible cure. iI DONT REALLY WANT TO GET MY TOOL OUT .................................... gregers Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 does the global closing work?it might be the switch after all but it has been known that although the wires look ok in the area of the rubber boot there is a possibility that the wire/s are frade and could just be touching every now and then?
