scotthaynes Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Hi this is my first post! I have recently purchased a tdi galaxy and being a mechanic i like to look over my cars before i put my family in them! I really love this car but have found so many small problems but these seam to be really common so no big problem, I do have one problem that i cannot seam to fix? I have a vibration ffom the front end (drivers side) i have replaced the front wishbones drop links and drive shaft and the vibration has gone, But i now seam to have another vibration that comes at 15-20mph and only in 2nd gear when taking power, i,m not sure but i,m thinking intermediate shaft bearing or top strut mounts? Does anybody have any suggestions? /scott Quote
Neils TDi again Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Scott if the vibration disappears as soon as you reduce power then it's almost certain to be the inboard drive shaft joint. The joint has a habit of wearing one of the three bearings and it then runs out of balance when under load. Quote
