xpc Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 Has any one experienced this issue. For years my heater fuse; no34, 25amp has blown when the aircon is in use. I have carried out some diagnostics and found that the current in the heater fuse circuit surges dramatically when the engine is hot, there is a high ambient temp and the car is accelerated up hill. I have messed about with the full throttle relays in the belief that one of them was faulty, but having swapped it with the horn relay, this did not cure the problem. HELP ME PLEASE. Quote

Many thanksChris Possible cooling fan issue, it could well be that when the main fan is engaged (hot and loaded) with the second fan on (aircon) there is an internal short. From what I have read the fan's do fail from time to time. Quote
big_kev Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 I think fuse 34 feeds either the front ( or rear ) blower motor. Do you have manual aircon (with a dial for the fan speed ) or fully automatic. Most likely it is either the resistor pack/hedgehog depending on your air-con type. Also could either be front or rear. Remove the glovebox and disconnect the lead to the resistor pack and see if the fuse blows. If not then reconnect the resistor pack and disconnect the blower fan. If the fuse blows its the resistor pack, if not its the fan. Quote
