Matt Ells Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 Hi all I have a 2.3 petrol Galaxy which im having some problems with loss of power, It started about 2 months ago so i changed the plugs but it made no difference then someone said the coil packs were pron to going due to the heat so i replaced one and it seemed to fix the problem then this week it started again so i replaced the other one but made no difference these were about Quote
sepulchrave Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 Definitely sounds like an HT ignition issue, I'd persevere with the coil pack/lead avenue of investigation. Quote

Many thanks Quote
sparky Paul Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) On the 2.3 there are only two HT leads, there are two coil packs directly above two of the spark plugs, and the two HT leads connect these to the other two plugs. If you remove the centre lid from the rocker cover, all will be revealed. Edited August 22, 2009 by sparky Paul Quote

Yeah ive replaced both coils & plugs im sure there was a extra HT lead coming off the Left hand coil (O/S) and it passed the other coil then looked as if it went into a wiring harness ? Any Ideas Quote

Any Ideas There's no other HT leads under the cover, only the two I mentioned... the others are LT cables which come from the wiring loom and plug into the coils. Nige F Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 Could it be the MAF sensor. Mine lost power under load, replaced this and all was fine Quote
