It Will Not Start

hi i'm having problems with my galaxy 19td 1998

the other day the glow plug light came on on the dashboard and the engine cut out only for a second or 2 it has happend a few times since then and when idoling the engines rpm increases by about 200 rpm and today it will not start

the engine turns over

i connected a wire to the positive on the battery and to the fuel cut off solnoid and the car started but all power has been lost it feals like the hand break is on

anyone had the same problem and know how to fix it

Might sound strange, but check your brake light switch.

Glow plug light coming on when driving could indicate a dodgy switch

Mine did this and I found the switch was sticking on.

Got a new one on ebay (

Crankshaft position sensor seems to be a suspect.

thanks all for the help it was relay 109 bought a new one and all seems fine now looked at the old relay and it had burned out looks like a bad solder joint
