V6 Exhaust

Like all boy racers I was wondering if I cound get a sound like the Scubi Imprezza from my Galazy V6?, anyone tried changing the pipes on their V6's?

I only know of couple of company's that did/do back boxes or complete systems for the galaxy, Jetex and remus for just the back box and for a complete system it used to be http://www.abtsportsline.co.uk/ it may be easier to get a custom job made!

I think that you may have bought the wrong car, emjay. The Galaxy is for sedate family men, like myself (I'll be driving in a hat once I've chosen the tweed to match the upholstery). That's why it has 7 seats, cup holders, fold down trays and so on, instead of grab handles, roll cages and 5 point harnesses.

Talking about mods and sounds, how about an 'induction' kit for the V6, are they worth the effort? and expense?

you could try induction kits for galaxy's mind you it has been reported that the use of the pre oiled filters can lead to the early demise of the MAF! :rolleyes:

I have a V6, and it is without doubt the fastest car I've owned ;) . I'm all in favour of being disgraceful, and the kids like the car. But it does lack that certain something ... I think the problem is that it looks like a loaf of bread :rolleyes: , especially from the back (a loaf of bread with a 4 bike carrier on in my case).

Tut tut Mr tompkins, thats not the veiw of a TDI driver we usually see! most of your fellow TDI driveing bretheren are tootling along trying to keep their MPG at at an acceptable level not driving fast and going Phut phut.

I dont have a V6 badge on the back of mine just the Ford and the Galaxy badge

:lol: I'm very tempted to get one when I'm at the VW shows but never get round to it you can get some rather nice VR6 badges for the golf that would look quite good on the back door of a galaxy! either that or a TDI badge!

here is the latest in my quest to get a sporty sound from my V6, I put a K&N cone filter on, sounds great - but almost too loud!!, my wife say's it sounds silly and insists it should be taken off!!, I'm beginning to think I should stick to the standard car and be happy??

out of interest which kit did you fit? and did it make any difference? I fitted an induction kit to a PUG 205 GTI! on that it did make a slight difference! mainly due the fact that it gave a shorter induction route by about 3 foot! and gave the air a cooler route as it no longer passed over and round the engine bay but straight into the inlet manifold! mind you the noise as you floored the throttle was LOUD :o and the odd small child that did get sucked in :o were passed out the rear via the 3 inch straight through exhaust system :lol: with only a few bruises :lol:

It's a thought. I can see why you might want to up the performance (although the V6 is fairly brisk for a MPV), but why do you want to make it noisier?

 

I presume that reduced baffling in the exhaust leads to better exhausting of the cylinders leads to slightly improved performance, but the difference must be very small. There must be more cost effective ways to improve performance.

There is, take the seats out when you don't need them. Take 5 unused seats out of the Galaxy and you will notice the difference in driving.
