jmlgalaxy Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 Hi all, I've got a warning light start flashing just above the temperature guage on my Galaxy 2.3 Auto R reg. Does anyone know what it's telling me? Any help greatly appreciated..... Quote
big_kev Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 Its telling you that your engine is too hot. ( overheating) The needle underneath should be into the red as well. It would be unadvisable to drive the vehicle until this fault has been sorted. Quote

If I pop it into neutral and switch off engine while still moving, and switch it back on again, the light goes off. Some times it will go back on again after a while and some times it stays off. I've also driven probably 80 miles with the light flashing. Do you reckon its just a fault in the warning light? Quote
big_kev Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Check the obvious first. Is it actually overheating.....is the coolant bubbling in the expansion tank or is steam escaping anywhere. Is the coolant level correct ? Quote

Is the coolant level correct ? try topping the coolant up this is the reason for the light..not overheating but low fluid... Quote
