Ford Galaxy Owners Club

I've just been looking at the What Car website.

The article from June 2009 regarding the JD Power Survey puts the Galaxy at the bottom of the MPV class. However it doesn't really seem to distinguish between the different models of Galaxy.

Considering the Galaxy comes bottom of the class why did you buy a Galaxy? What persuaded you to buy the Galaxy over other MPV's?

If you sold your Galaxy why did you sell it?

What MPV do you own if you don't own the Galaxy and why?

This forum is great because there are members who have sold the Galaxy and own other MPV's, so I thought it would be great to have one thread to talk about comparisons.

These surveys can be very misleading.

The smax got 4 stars on performance, vehicle interior & exterior.

The galaxy got 2 stars.

Surely they should be the same ?

Also I noticed the dealer service showed 1 and 2 stars respectively, again this should be the same.

p.s. obviously Ford have improved their dealer service ( or maybe there was no Zero star category available.

p.p.s. Most of the vehicles are not what I would call MPV's.

p.p.p.s. This survey couldn't even get the Zaffy's name right.

These surveys are unfortunately wholly inaccurate and provided only by 0.02% of owners !

As you can see from my list below, I have had quite a few galaxies. I am aware that many Galaxy owners have had nightmares with their cars. I can only assume I have been very lucky (or is it that people only report problems and not praise). I did at one point consider the Citroen C8, but my brother-in-law had a nightmare with his. He replaced it after 8 months with a Voyager which had almost as many problems. This helped me to decide to stay with the Galaxy. My current one (the 2.2) has yet again been excellent. My previous ones had minor faults, but this one has had nothing except a one off alarm message which has not re-occurred. I was going to change to the S-Max in October, but have now decided to keep this one, it has simply been that good.
