hi big philly an welcome to the galaxy forum

depending where the break is you might do it with a fiver spent on a B & Q Compression fitting (pipe connector).

Volkswagen sharan ,seat Alhambra and ford galaxy are all the same more or less bar the badges

so its possible to widen your search for the pipe

i did a quick search for you looks like this bits got your name on it of course you need to check part no.

as for an alloy weld, the weld would probably last forever not so sure about the pipe :)

Until you take off the pipe, tape up the joint to prevent moisture and dust getting in.

When you take off the pipe, immediately bung up the open ends of the system for the same reason. If you repair your pipe, make sure you clean the inside thoroughly and remove any debris/swarf otherwise you may find you need a new compressor a couple of weeks later.

Good luck.
