marinabrid Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 has anyone tried these leak seals in a tin ?i seen a few different ones on ebay form aircon sellers, from around Quote
big_kev Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 Waste of money....don't work in the real world. If you have a leak in your old banger ( same as mine ) then it is likely to be something more serious. Quote
funbus Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 had a regas few wks ago after replacing condenser. The regas dude said to put a can of that stuff in as it will seal any other small leaks. Note he wasnt selling it to me, he suggested go to halfords to get some. He said in his experience with older cars with small/slow leaks it had fixed quite a few 'repeat offenders' ie cars he had regassed several times before. So in his experience it does work. And is worth a punt at 20-30 quid if it does fix it. Quote
jkspoff Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 These cans of gas/sealant do sometimes work, my wifes Renault Scenic had a leaking air con pipe somewhere deep amongst the engine bay, I used a can of this a year ago and its been fine since without any further top ups. Its sometimes worth a try before throwing hundreds and maybe thousands of pounds at the A/C system, for the sake of 30 quid ! Quote
