Gutted! Turbo Blown!

Hi all !!

Just had the day from hell!

Was on the way to Alton towers with the wife and kids for day out

and was driving along when heard a "rubbing" sound from engine bay

pulled over to check it out, nothing.

set off again not much power and when changed gear a puff of white smoke out of back!

then car started Billowing the white smoke out so pulled into a pub car park

phoned RAC took them 1 1/2 hours to get to us then told he cant tow us !!!!!!!

hence another 1 1/2 for recovery truck to arrive!!!!!.

asked Frauds price for turbo

gutted for you m8,could you not source the turbo cheaper?and do the work yourself?or is it too invovled?.

Hi biscuit, maybe too late for you but my turbo went beginning of last year and after a lot of searching and phoning i got one from www.turbocharger-solutions.co.uk for 255+vat. Just over 300, which i thought was good. Fitted it myself with no fancy tools, but it was my toughest challenge to date i would say. You just return your old one when the jobs done. hope this helps you, cheers.

garrat and borg warner dont sell parts, so recon ones are built with copy parts, 12m warranty but you dont want to fit another every 3 months!.

I did msg him to see if this did my AFN engined turbo and he replied yes
