lch05 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 The ABS light has just come on & stayed on, on our 2001 galaxy 2.3.I've connected the fault code reader, but there are no DTC codes recorded! When there is a fault with the ABS, does it record a fault code? Thanks for any help. Quote

When there is a fault with the ABS, does it record a fault code? Thanks for any help. It's a wheel sensor gone faulty - or its the clock spring thing under the steering wheel. I would check the wheel sensors first. Quote
lch05 Posted July 27, 2009 Author Report Posted July 27, 2009 I was hoping to identify which wheel sensor with my fault code reader. How do I identify which sensor now? Thanks Quote
chromedome Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Look for a broken ABS ring on the CV joints. Quote
TeamGreen Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Also check the ABS fuses. The fault light came on on mine but the fault was listed as 01276 ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64) 16-10 Signal Outside Specification Intermittent I checked everything out and sure enough offside front ring was broken, replaced this and the sensor but it made no difference. After realising that after clearing the fault code it returned as soon as I tried to access the ABS controller I replaced all the ABS fuses and this cured the fault. Why two faults should happen at the same time I don't know but it may be worth a try. Quote
lch05 Posted July 28, 2009 Author Report Posted July 28, 2009 How can I test the wheel sensors if I don't have a multi meter? Thanks Quote
