The ABS light has just come on & stayed on, on our 2001 galaxy 2.3.

I've connected the fault code reader, but there are no DTC codes recorded!

When there is a fault with the ABS, does it record a fault code?

Thanks for any help.

It's a wheel sensor gone faulty - or its the clock spring thing under the steering wheel. I would check the wheel sensors first.

Also check the ABS fuses. The fault light came on on mine but the fault was listed as

01276 ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64)

16-10 Signal Outside Specification Intermittent

I checked everything out and sure enough offside front ring was broken, replaced this and the sensor but it made no difference. After realising that after clearing the fault code it returned as soon as I tried to access the ABS controller I replaced all the ABS fuses and this cured the fault. Why two faults should happen at the same time I don't know but it may be worth a try.

I am also having the same problem on my 2001 1.9 TDI GHIA. Can anybody help with the diagnostics?

I've just managed to borrow a multi meter off a mate and he's gave me a crash course.

But what kind of readings am I looking for and where abouts do I take the reading (i.e connector)?

Thanks
