Hi,

We previously had one of the rear parking sensors fail and determined via the 'clicking' which one it was and replaced it and everything has been working well for ages.

A week or so ago however they've stopped working again - I *think* this time it's the control box that's not well - but would welcome suggestions!

When we put the car in reverse we get a very faint beeping noise coming from the area of the control box (under the passenger seat) and nothing else. No lights on the button by the radio and definitely no parking sensors!

None of them click (which I presume is because the control box is faulty). i've checked for water, but it all appears as dry as a bone..

I don't have access to VAG-COM or anything similar (am in Bournemouth if anyone local can help!).

Wife is going spare not having the sensors.. is a new control box the most likely explanation?

Cheers

Chris

If its under the passenger seat, check for water in there. Common fault - search for leaking rear washer pipe.

As mentioned in the original post - checked under the passenger seat for water - everything is bone dry..

I'm assuming the constant faint beeping is an error indication (if I press the Parking Sensor button after they've been turned on then the beeping stops)

Sorry, must read more diligently next time! Maybe connectors/wiring come adrift on a sensor? Sensor gone short circuit? Could be control box fault, maybe check for heathy 12 volt supply. Unusually faint beep may indicate a short or lack of power.
