managed to find relays and relay 26 (marked up 100) i think is ok i changed it with the other relay marked up 100 and both are clicking and appear to be working also what does relay marked up as 185 or 105 do as this is also clicking when i turn key but no sign of engine turning over, what else could it be starter motor possibly or something else? Any help would be appreciated

Got to ask the obvious........is your battery fully charged.

The Tdi's take a lot of battery power to turn the engine over.

yes battery fully charged tried it with jump leads as well

Hello,

Something similar happened to me. It turned out that the chip had fallen out of the key (never found it). I am pretty sure it clicked but never turned. Definitely the light flashed on the door. Didn't really think it was the battery because the sidelights didnt dim but checked the battery, the engine connections you name it. Of course I gave the spare key to the garage and, what do you know, started first time. Felt like a fool, so if you have a spare key alway worth giving it a try. Mine was a 1998 galaxy. I now have newer Galaxy and it allows the engine to turn with a chip-less key. It sort of fires but gives up after a second.

Hope this helps
