Pineappleman Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Guys Thanks again to your greatness and past threads i have come to the conclusion that i need a new pulley for my alternator. Yep that same problem a lot of us seem to get. Loud screeching noise, rough sounding power steering and the air con is on strike. What i need to find out is how on earth can i find out the part numbers i need.looking on ebay i can get what i need but i really want the correct part before i shell out more money. Do i need to pay a garage to take the part out and find out the part number? I thank you in advance once again. Pine. Quote
Willie Krashitt Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 I (and I'm sure 99.99% of other users of this site) am not psychic. You don't mention what engine you have or what year (ie mk1 or mk2 etc) This makes answering this type of question somewhat hit and miss. Add your vehicle to your signature! However, looking on e-Cat, Ford list only 1 pulley for the 120A alternator, as fitted to Mk2 models with TDi and V6 engines, and the FINIS code is F1469755 at Quote

penster Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) Hello, first post so please go easy on me! I've had this problem with the squealy rumbly noise etc for a while, the pulley is stuck as per previous posts on here so am trying to locate one to change it (well hubby is!). I have a 53 Galaxy 1.9TDi 130 (120A alternator) would the Ford and Seat/VW part numbers be the correct ones for my car? So far hubby has called various local garages either to be told we have to have the whole alternator or (even worse) they don't actually know what he's asking for! Have got no trouble getting the tool just need the pulley!!! Thanks Penny Edited July 27, 2009 by penster Quote
nibs Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 hi penny if your alternator is the same as mine (028 903 028 E (120A)) , then the vw/seat part no 022 903 119 C will be ok. regards nibs Quote
Willie Krashitt Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 To All, To quote from Piney "1469755 is no longer available, it is subject to a multiple replacement which includes a pulley, a fixing kit and a new alternator.Im sure they are talking poo so will try Seat using your part number." Yes your dealer was talking poo. I have checked with Daventry and this part is still stocked and supplied as a normal replacement part. Should your dealer use a search on E-Cat, it does come up with 'number not found'. If you haven't got a nearby VW/Seat dealer, tell your dealer to look at the following 'tree':VY Galaxy>M Engine>07 Starter and Alternator>020 Alternator>item 2 Pulley Assy - Alternator. The originally specified part has been superceded by the one I gave earlier. The full Ford part number is 6M21-10344-BA, FINIS 1469755 and costs Quote
