Power Steering Malfunction

Hi all

 

I'm new to the forum and drive a new shape Galaxy 56 reg. I wondered if anyone has experienced their power steering malfunction light coming on every week or so. I have also had parking sensors coming on when there have been no obstacles, and the boot lid was jammed closed for 3 days last weekend and then mysteriously started working again.

 

I have had it at various Ford dealers who have run diagnostics but just tell me that "nothing shows up". It makes me nervous whilst driving in case I lose power to the steering.

 

If anyone has experienced this or similar you might be good enough to advise the best thing to do.

They all sound like intermittent connector problems. For the boot and parking sensors, check the loom in the wheel jack area for connectors, undo them inspect and reconnect.

Is it the 2.0 TDCi?

If so you have the electric-hydraulic PAS and there was a problem with some of the early ones requiring a software update to the module. It would normally show trouble codes on diagnostics but ask them to refer to Technical Service Bulletins 48/2007 and 22/2008.
