geoffandjen Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Help, Can anybody point me at the tool required to remove/replace Spark Plugs and HT Leads on my Galaxy V6 2.8 Ghia X Jan 97? Can anyone advise if it is best to replace the Coil Pack at the same time. Sorry about simple questions, but I cannot get a Haynes Manual for this car to help, so any help you can give me would be very much appreciated. Regards Geoff Quote
mk2vr6 Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 vw vr6 plug lead tool as used by you can also pick up a plasic version from most good VW dealers or a rather expensive but will last you a lifetime stainless steel version from snap on as for the coil pack if its failing or arching out between the posts then yes replace it Quote

geoffandjen Posted July 9, 2009 Author Report Posted July 9, 2009 MK2VR6 Many thanks, have ordered the tool and have the plugs, leads on their way. Really useful forum for novices like me. Will let you know how I get on. Cheers Geoff Quote
KFA Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 You cannot get a Haynes manual but there is a simple manual, just for the six cylinder engine. The cost is around Quote
mk2vr6 Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 It does state that you have to take the engine out to replace the water pump but another forum member does not agree. the water pump can be replaced without dropping the engine! you only need to remove the engine mount bolts on that side and lift the engine to gain enough room to remove the pump Quote
