arryp0tter Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Hello people i bought a vagcom lead and disc other week from fleabay finally found enough time to install it today and test it on my nagging parking sensor problem ( see previous posts) well had few probs initially setting it up but hey i got it working and there was quite a list for the parking sensors but then things went sour . All of the faults listed suddely went blank and i then got a message that the vag program had stopped working. When i rebboted everything i could not get things to work. Now having read the read me file on the disc as i am a vista user i need to use the vsta driver however whilst there is a vista driver on the disc there is no way of installing it. 2 questions as all else on laptop is fine i am assuming my vag prob is down to incompatability ie vista driver not downloaded. or does the installation auto select the driver cos it knows you have vista? i have vag com 409.1 version for my 2002 1.9tdi is there anywhere ( hooky or other) where i can obtain a full version of vagcom without shelling out dollars ( am poor dont work as severe diabetic with problems cant work) am i barking up the write tree with this or should i re install vagcom for the 3rd time and try again. ok enough gabblingbut all input welcome Quote

Can you please enter your location in the list at the side of the page and put the model year etc in your signiture so if some one is close they can help ! ie I have vag-com and would pop round and check it out if you were close enough (or if any one else was close) Radiotwo Quote
JRWR Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I had a similar poblem with vista but found I could get it to work if I ran the freebie vag-com application in 'compatibility mode'. Quote
