arryp0tter Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 ok short and sweet read in the FAQ's regarding MAF testing on a 1.9tdi unplugged it and sure enough not a blind bit of diffrence in running but when i came to remove the MAF to take a peek/replace it i came up against a weirdo the two screws that retain the MAF are of the torx variety and of the security type ( which i have a big set of) but, and this is the odd bit the torx only has 5 stars instead of 6 and im b*ggered if i can shift them with anything as there aint a lot to grab a hold of any help guys and gals please :P Quote

Scorpiorefugee Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 I had the same problem and I found a set of security torx bits, the ones with the hole in the centre, in the local pound shop. Having got them out, I replaced then with 3/4" no 8 round head screws, but, having swopped the MAFs over between my 2 Gals I now just leave the screws out - no problems. Quote
