new nige Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Hi new here not sure if i am in the right place My 1998 1.9 TDI (VD25921) has some kind of turbo problem, very slow on motorways (not bad arround town) and seems to cease accelerating at 3000 rpm ish. Disconnected the MAF and seemed to run worse. Put it into fords for a diagnosis and they recon its 1) Hoses (accepted) quoted Quote
seatkid Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) I personally would try a new MAF sensor first Is your engine 90 or 110bhp? The 110bhp version suffers from sticking vane actuator in the Turbo (search for pics and info about freeing) Prices quoted seem reasonable (for a dealer) but do you want to spend Edited July 2, 2009 by seatkid Quote

seatkid Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Hoses should fix it, the 90bhp turbo/engine is pretty much bombproof - certainly one of the most reliable of the bunch. Quote

Worth a shot anyhow! I dont have much free time but was thinking of having a go at the hoses myself. Is there any guidance with photos out there you know of? Is it as simple as taking them off cutting new to size and sticking them back on? Quote
