I used a hammer initially to knock out the linkage and noticed i might have smashed/squashed the top of the thread thus bolt doesnt fit. I shouldnt have but i did.... Quote

gregers Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 i have in the past gentley used a hacksaw blade to recut a thread on a bolt that was very important, just enough to get the nut to start then using some oil wind it on a bit then un do and keep turning and undoing and the nut has recut the thread. Richard gal Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Just get a small grinder and taper off the end you hit until the nut will "start". Quote
