Russ1 Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Help, that's all I seem to ask on this site..lol I need some advise on my 2003 galaxy 1.9tdi duel climate control the air con unit does not work.originally I had one of the pressure switches changed with no luck. Had a professional check the system and have been told that the system is fully gassed and when he put a live feed on the compressor everything got cold. he has told me there is no power coming from the controls.. your help if you can is. Is the feed from the flashing unit under the stereo or from another part of the system I don't know about yet?.. Many thanks in advance Quote
big_kev Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 You need to find out why your Climate Control unit is flashing. It could be one of many faults.....any of which could stop the compressor starting. I would suggest running diagnostics on your air con system to identify the problem. This can be done either professionally or diy using vagcom (look it up) or similar. Quote
Russ1 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 Well I'll let you know what it is I've booked it in to have it's faults read i'll keep you posted Thanks for the suggestions Quote
MrT Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) I need some advise on my 2003 galaxy 1.9tdi duel climate control Are you absolutely sure you have the dual climate control air conditioning? The dual climate control has roof vents in the middle row and the back row in the rear of the car whilst the single climate control has no roof vents in the rear but does have separate controls on the dash panel for both the front and rear. I ask because the two systems take a different amount of gas (750 or 1050g) and if it is filled for the wrong version the over/under pressure switch will activate and stop the compressor from engaging to prevent damage to the system. When this happens the climate control unit display will flash when you start the car. From memory I think there is also a relay between the climate control and the feed to the compressor clutch. Russ1 Posted August 10, 2009 Author Report Posted August 10, 2009 Climate control now fixed and fully functioning. turns out it was a pressure switch mounted up inside the drivers side wing. easy to fix but not easy getting the part. ford no longer make the switch had to get one from VW who told me that the part had changed numbers. if it helps anyone the original number is 1J0 959 126 the new number is 1K0 959 126B Quote
