2001 Galaxy Key Fob

Hi All

 

Hope someone can help me.

 

Locked my car last night with the central locking button on the key fob - all fine. Went to get in it today by pressing unlock on key fob - nothing! Went to shop to get new battery for key fob which I've put it and obviously need to reprogramme it which is fine as have found out how to do this through forum - very helpful thanks!

 

My concern is if I go to unlock the car with the key as can't bleep it on the key fob - I'm guessing my alarm with trigger and make a racket until it's switched off and not sure how to switch it off?

 

Can anybody help me please?

unlock car by putting key in the lock as the key is already programed to the car it will unlock and turn the alarm/immoblizer off,then follow the instructions in the faqs for reprogramming the key to lock/unlock the car.

Agree with last post - using key in door won't set off alarm.

Re programming: - my key needed reprogramming after one of my kids somehow deprogrammed it - I followed the instructions I found on this forum - they were accurate but you need to follow them closely to ensure you do it properly. I found it did not work the first few times but perserverence paid off. When I eventually got it to work I realised my initial problem had been not following the instructions as precisely as I should have.

I had almost convinced myself the key was at fault but no, it was me! So, give it a good try before resorting to replacement.
