can someone tell me do these galaxy ever work without something going wrong,i have a 1.9 tdi ghia 2000 plate now my heater has decided to stop blowing,the back blower works fine put it up to high setting no problem but the front one put the setting to high and nothing any ideas any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Nah !

 

However it sounds like it may be the resistor pack or hedghog unit ( not its real name ).

Situated behind the glove box...easily removed without tools.

 

Probably burnt out.....may be repairable.

would that just stop the front blower because the rear one works fine,yes problems after problems only had it for about a month so far parking sensors packed up,decided to over heat on long journeys and now the heater bloody car

Yes the rear heater has its own one.

 

Basically the resistor pack( manual aircon) and hedghog (automatic aircon) fitted next to the fans (front and back) and depending on the fan speed setting reduces the voltage to the individual fan.

 

It has a tendency to get very hot and burnt out which means no voltage to the particular fan.

 

Whip your glove box out and have a look....the unit might be hot.

 

If you have automatic aircon ( electronic unit in the front) then the hedgehogs in the front and rear are the same and you could always swap them over to double check !
