Autobox Help?

They have a VW Sharan (bought last week) and now it isnt working - here is what she said to me:

 

'At present she won't go into reverse, gear box oil is pouring out (when the engine was hot smelled like burning cats pee ) if you rev her in neutral or parked she tries to move forwards and when driving she is fine til she gets warm then won't slip up and down between her gears just get high revs where she's stuck between gears etc.

 

Hope some of that makes sense. '

 

it is a 1.9 1999 model if that helps?

Bought SAS, so stuck with it.

mmm now i could be wrong,plz check with the right peeps(trade and standards),but i think there is no such thing as sold as seen when it comes to cars??????
