Rosie Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Just for info,my Glow Plug warning Light came on a few days ago on my 99 Tdi Galaxy (146,000 miles).Having checked this forum,l tested the brake pedal switch and found that the little plastic plunger attached to the switch was stuck in the off position.Having sprayed it with WD40 the plunger is now free and the Glow Plug Warning Light has now gone. The reason the G.P.W.L comes on is because if the plunger does not return to it,s normasl position,it is telling the ECU that you are driving the vehicle with the brakes on, and possible causing damage to the engine. Hope this of use and that you don,t get ripped off by a Fraud dealer telling you something else. I have made many enquries elsewhere, and this is the most common fault if the GPWL comes on.
