Digger15 Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I looking for help to a small problem I have with my Gal, she's a MK1 2.0 Ghia and has done about 137,000 miles. Over the last month the engine has been cutting out on me every time I slow down to stop at a junction or even when I'm parking the car, which has been close to causing some damage. I have changed the crank shaft sensor, the MAF sensor, new exhaust and recently a new fuel regulator but still the same old problem. The car will sit quite happly at tick over @ 950rpm but any sort revving of the engine will see it cut out. Any ideas, advice would be gratefully received about the car as i don't want to get rid of her yet. Quote
seatkid Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Try a search for ISV Idle stabilisation valve. It may even be in the FAQ. This needs to be cleaned. Quote
