Tiptronic Gearbox

For my mark 1 Galaxy TDI Auto - year 2000 - I am looking for information from the forum about a possible upgrade to a Tiptronic Box. The old 4-speed is very expensive to repair and i cannot find a goos used one right now - probably because these cars are 9+ years old now.......So I was hoping to install a TIPTRONIC box instead..?

Has anyone tried this or will it just not fit?
