Keanu Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Hi Has any one got an answer to why the accelerator pedal is quite 'stiff' (heavy) on 2.3 Ghia petrol 52 reg model? I've always thought this was normal but recently more than 4 friends of mine pointed out that it was "too stiff" than most other cars/or galaxies that have driven. The other thing noticed was that I would keep on pressing hard for 2 to 3 seconds and then ease off slightly and all of a sudden the galaxy would speed up! Any advice would much appreciated. Steven.Langdale Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 Hello Is it stiff if you move the throttle lever by hand in the engine bay? Has the cable got any kinks in it? I had a stiff cable on my 2.3 auto, it was the inline kickdown switch that was busted, a new cable (with switch) was about 20 ish quid. steven Quote
chromedome Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 Another fault is a sticky throttle assembly. Try cleaning it first. If the cable seems ok then a new throttle assembly may be required. Quote

Keanu Posted June 14, 2009 Author Report Posted June 14, 2009 All it needed was a bit of WD-40 Spray and now the pedal is soft as it should be. Thanks Quote
