mikej Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 When you say stopped working, did they stop all of a sudden or was it a gradual slowdown when sweeping the screen and then stop ? if it was the linkage then i would think you would see the wipers struggling to sweep before giving up completely as mine did. marcostig Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 90% linkage prob.. but would move at lease a couple of times when switched on..unless it is fully siezed nothing to loose but strip it out ..its not that bad really..couple of hours out and in ..if it all comes apart easy !! Quote
Raggedy Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 To be certain its a siezed linkage, disconnect the linkage arm from the motor and check to see if the motor runs. If it is the linkage the motor will run fine. My linkage was siezed so much I had to remove the full unit to try and free it up. I could not remove the shaft from the housings and ended up buying a replacement linkage assembly. Not cheap sorry. Quote
