hi, im new here , wondered if u guys can help me, my wipers hav stopped working , i seen lots of threads bout wiper probs, but how can i tell if its the motor faulty or the linkage siezed, any help wud be greatly appreciated,

prob just siezed. assume you have checked fuses

yep ive checked the fuses, but not the relay as i cant find how to get to the relays, any ideas ????

When you say stopped working, did they stop all of a sudden or was it a gradual slowdown when sweeping the screen and then stop ? if it was the linkage then i would think you would see the wipers struggling to sweep before giving up completely as mine did.

last couple weeks they been erratic, no they stopped altogether???????????????

90% linkage prob.. but would move at lease a couple of times when switched on..unless it is fully siezed nothing to loose but strip it out ..its not that bad really..couple of hours out and in ..if it all comes apart easy !!

To be certain its a siezed linkage, disconnect the linkage arm from the motor and check to see if the motor runs. If it is the linkage the motor will run fine. My linkage was siezed so much I had to remove the full unit to try and free it up. I could not remove the shaft from the housings and ended up buying a replacement linkage assembly. Not cheap sorry.
