Tiggsy Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Last week my "check brakes" light has been on 40% of the time. Took of the wheels today to have a look and there seems plenty of wear - will they do till next month when it's getting serviced or should i do them now (or is it so easy a job i should do them myself anyway - no car expert but used to change the pads on my YZFR1 Yamaha....and i went 180 on that so they must have been fitted ok!) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/MrTiggs/car0001.jpg Front pad looks ok? http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/MrTiggs/car0002.jpg Disc is 24mm (21mm is the limit i belive?) I assume you measure accross the entire disk? http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/MrTiggs/car0003.jpg Rear pad http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/MrTiggs/car0004.jpg 14mm of rear disk (8mm is the min, i belive?) seatkid Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Nice pics. Have you check the inner pads for wear? Obviously the warning light comes on quite early. I would think you have a couple of thousand miles left yet. Quote
mikej Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 They should easy see you a couple of thou yet as long as you don't drive it like a R1 lol, you may well have done the breaks and 160mph on it but did you try doing a stoppy at that speed :) :) i take it you have now mellowed ? Quote
marcostig Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 they look fine to me for a good few miles yet.. Quote
