Mk2 Galaxy Air Con Compressor

I need to replace the air con compressor pump on my 2001 1.9 tdi Galaxy.

 

Are the pipe/electrical connections, fixing holes etc the same for all years of Mk2 Galaxy ?

 

I've seen a few pumps for sale on Ebay, taken off various years of Mk2 1.9 tdi Galaxy, and don't want to buy one only to discover it won't fit.

Hi,

Officially they are different - Pre 15 March 2002 is a YM2H-19D629-BA, After this date it was YM2H-19D629-BB, superceded by a 6M2H-19D629-AA.

In practise however, you can definately fit the later part to an earlier car - I know because that is what I did and the Aircon is still working as good as gold (so new owner tells me).

Not trying to correct anyone here but i do know there are several types for mine ( 2001 mk2 2.3 ) as the pipe entry points are different and are compressor specific not sure regarding diesels ? Edited April 20, 2009 by mikej

while you have a point, no correction is required.

The question asked was about a 2001 1.9TDI, and from the original question that is what Terry is looking at.

The question wasn't asked about mk2, but mk2 1.9TDI.
