paulh Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 I had the usual problem of the washer pipe coming apart and taking out the reversing sensor control unit under the seat. Loads of electrics went haywire until I disconnected the unit. Taking it out seemes to sort most things except the heater controls and the clock (the blower works fine, its all the other controls that are dead). I've virtually had the whole dash out looking for a reason why these won't work to no avail. I never bothered replacing the reversing unit as the sensors have never worked anyway (broken lens somewhere). Could this be the problem? HAs anyone else removed one of these units and not had the same problems as me?Thanks Quote
Caff Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 I have had this problem myself. In January I posted "Clock, Trip, Heater And Drivers Door Not Working". Not sure how to get a direct link. If you look it may answer your query. Quote

I think Ive checked them all but I could have missed one if its not in an obvious place. Quote
Caff Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 We think.... fuse 32. If you have the Owner's Guide - page 180 This is in the fuse box under the instrument panel by the driver's knees. 3rd from right on bottom row (horizontal alignment) it's supposed to be engine management 5A brown. Mine is orange! Perhaps that is the new brown! This was blown and replacement solved our problems. The clock re-set every time the engine was turned off, the doors didn't lock and the blower electrics were dead.Hope this helps. I know what you're going through! :D Quote

HAs anyone else removed one of these units and not had the same problems as me?Thanks Paul, I have had water under the passenger seat on and off for years but did not know the cause (until now) so I will check the washer pipe for a hole. My parking sensors also stopped working and the engine management light came on and I lost power to the engine. I stripped out the parking sensor controler and dried it with a hair drier and put it back together and it works fine most of the time and all the other problems went away. I think you need this unit plugged in for some reason. I was quoted Quote
paulh Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 OK cheers, I'll clean it up a bit and see what happens. Quote
paulh Posted April 19, 2009 Author Report Posted April 19, 2009 Well I cleaned the module up and plugged it back in but no luck, heater controls and clock stil dead. Fuses are ok, is there anything else it could be? A relay perhaps? Quote
srafferty Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Have you got a TIS disc? It has wiring diagrams although not always easy to follow. - ebay Quote
paulh Posted August 20, 2009 Author Report Posted August 20, 2009 Bumping this back up in case any new members haven't seen it and may be able to help. The damn heaters are still stuck on full heat, which is wonderful in the middle of summer :) Quote
