Guest j_mchattie Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Im after a replacement key torch chunk of the mondeo mk1 key. Mines broken. - any one that can supply this? Thanks James Quote
Dave-G Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Um.................................................you drive a mondeo......which was made by ...FORD? na dunno anyone, but you ought to bear in mind that I think this is a galaxy forum,NOT a mondeo forum Quote
Guest j_mchattie Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Well gee thanks Dave, and i thought this was the Mondeo section? My eyes never cease to amaze me..... Quote
Dave-G Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 you're welcome...oh,look at the url  ..............and to the left of the three GALAXY pictures as you enter the forum ;) like I say, I think it's a GALAXY FORUM...nothing personal there J_M <_< Quote
Guest nimrod Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 aww ignore Dave! James he's just grouchy because he's broke his Galaxy again! ;) Quote
_dg Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 Perhaps he needs the torch to find his way back to the Mondeo section . LOL I've noticed a few posts from mondeos and fiestas creeping into the 'view recent posts' section of the galaxy forum. Don't know if this is normal though. Anyway, I thought the ford torch keys were only distributed through ford dealers. Quote
Guest nimrod Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 Its been bought up a few time about the influx of other cars, it was decided to open sections up for other Ford vehicles, they dont intrude that much so personally Ipersonally dont see that they are a problem! but if you want just galaxy/sharan/alhambra site's there are a few out there but have nowhere the amount of members or are as active as this forum ;) Quote
Dave-G Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 "but if you want just galaxy/sharan/alhambra site's there are a few" ;) Well ,this WAS just a shalaxy site when I became a member ;), before the very bold, loud and proud, stand alone, single, individual, well defined word GALAXY was shrunk in size to allow space to write,in my opinion, a diminished: ford GALAXY. The point I'm not very good at making is that there is now less emphasis that this is,or ever was, a GALAXY FORUM..which might explain its success in the way that, say, a capri owners club might draw capri members that would'nt join a general ford owner club Perhaps the word GALAXY and the three photo's of GALAXIES should be replacedto imply this is becoming a 'general' ford site? Yes I feel strongly about this, but thats the whole point of a forum I think?,and am I alone in wondering why some of our most helpfull contributers seem to have politely reduced their input? Quote
Guest j_mchattie Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 I can appreciate your views, but a forum for such a small amount of vehicles (ie. 1) wont thrive for long, people will get their old questions at first and then anyone developing problems in the future will just read old posts - therefore no new communication. The field has to be widened for the site to survive long term - which it has. The reason i post here is that i actually get some straight answers (just like the OLD Haynes manuals, which have unfortunately lost precision recently), people such as yourself, Nimrod and others obviously have the knowledge and people like me need a way of getting to it. Thanks for all your input, tons of people are after your info - id certainly take that as a compliment in itself. Quote
Guest nimrod Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 I agree with your point of only one vehicle! take a look at .....http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/ it covers nearly the whole range of Toyota's and has a very active forum that has discounts, group buys and meets! maybe one day this forum could be as active? the one vehicle forum could also explain the lack of activity and in one case the death of the site! ;) one of the forums I use to visit has now become a porn site hosting site! I wouldn't mind but its pay to view ;) there was a member on here who is in the process of setting up a shalaxy site! I keep clicking the link in my favourites list but its not up and running yet :P if Dave's interested I can dig out the pure galaxy site links for him? a couple that I visit that are fairly active! Quote
_dg Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 I agree, this IS a Galaxy forum and it has got along very nicely in the time I've been a member. I am not really interested in mondeo wheels, fiesta gearsticks or focus servicing. What are the other links? I have not found a Galaxy forum as active as this one Quote
Guest nimrod Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 There isnt another galaxy site as active as this one that I've found so far! I'm still looking though  here's the UK sites that are still active........http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fordvwseat-mpv http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vw-sharan/http://groups.msn.com/SAGMPVsClub and the not yet up and running site by a member on here......http://www.shalaxy.com/ the no longer active site........ http://www.fordhelp.co.uk/ Quote
Dave-G Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 Thanks for the info NIMROD, clearly there are differing views on this subject, and I can see both sides of this debate. :o I think it partly depends on what car we drive  :o what do you drive ?:o Quote
Guest nimrod Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 What do i drive? well this for starters to the left of it you can just make out my Golf GTI and behind that my works van oh! and the mrs up the wall  Quote
