34laxy Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Snap! Same problem, Same age of Gal, and Same mileage, Spoooky! :( Thanks for the detail of your fault finding mission, not cheap I guess? What was the technician using to read the T-Map, VAG-COM? What was used to establish that the T-Map readings were wrong? VAG COM gave me the identical fault code as you describe and I had been planning to strip down the Turbo suspecting that the vanes were sticking due to excess soot. Your solution sounds worth a try first. Quote
kim 8027888 Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Hi, sorry I haven't replied sooner - rebuilding a kitchen............the technician used a vag-com, but I'm not sure it gave him any useful info. He went with his experience of these turbo's and used something that looked like an ammeter to check the readings from the t-map.It is a real easy part to replace, see if you can find someone to do a swap with.............I live in south bucks if its any use.Good luck [also had a problem logging on which is why my name has changed from al terego] Quote
