Correct Tyre Sizes

Dear all,

 

I wonderded if someone might help. I need to change the tyres on my 98 2.8 Ghia x (auto)

 

Now the car has 215 55 16 but all the manuals and the tyre places that I rung say that they should be 205 65 16.

 

I wouldn't mind going up to a 60 profile or a 65 profile but I'n not sure of the effect on the rolling radius. the ride on the 50 profiles can be a bit bumby at times.

 

I've also found a guy who can sell me 215 50 16 for

My 98 tdi uses 215 55 16.(REINFORCED THEY MUST BE!!). on alloy wheels.

Another point to note.

 

If your vehicle has tyre sizes other than the factory fit then your insurance may be void.

The MICHELIN book we use at work states REINFORCED next to the tyres suggested for the GALAXY.

 

Also in the rear of my galaxy owners guide it does say about 215/55x16's.

I use the firestones (reinforced), that is a wicked price NICE ONE ,a good tyre with good alround performance and a good wear rate :unsure:
