merky Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Hi I have a N reg 2.0 litre Galaxy Aspen that has developed a whirring noise on the left side of the engine compartment. It also smells of burning occasionally. It is difficult to pinpoint where the noise is coming from but it sounds like it is coming from the power steering pump, belt tensioner pulley, crankshaft pulley area (hope fully not). Does anyone have any ideas, is there a common fault that Galaxys are prone to which would cause a whirring noise. It doe not change pitch when the steering is turned and sounds lower down than the alternator if that helps. Thanks Mark Quote
