dodalexander Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Here's hoping someone has seen this before, or has a quick and easy solution: I've just upgraded my 5000 RDS unit in my 2002 Galaxy (CD changer in boot) to a 6000CD unit. All works well after entering the code, but at some point in the next day or two it stops responding to the steering wheel controls, and forgets about the existance of the CD changer. The radio and head-unit CD are still working OK though. Removing the power and re-entering the code bring everything back to normal, at least for a day or so... Any ideas? The 6000CD was a second-hand unit, but it seems a strange thing for it to work to begin with. Cheers,George Quote

Cheers,George So it seems that when I turn off the engine and remove the key while the radio is still on, it loses the steering wheel controls and CD changer. Removing the power to the radio so that I have to enter the code again brings everything back, and if I switch the radio off using its power button before I turn the ignition off then all is OK when I switch on again the next time. Sounds like an internal fault to me - has anyone seen this before? Thanks,George Quote
