lvgal Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Hello My 57 2.0 tdci Galaxy suffered mainly panel damage when, whilst turning RIGHT, it hit the rear quarter of a Renault Laguna, and the OSF tyre had a 4 inch cut in the side wall. Since the car has been repaired it does not feel as stable as it was, pulls to the left most of the time and is very unsettled over poor road surfaces. The car has been back to the repair shop several times but to no avail. I have had the wheel alignment checked with the following results: Partial Toe - Quote
seatkid Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 I suspect that tyres are the problem here. You should have had both front tyres replaced, with original manufacters types. You'd be surprised at how a little difference between tyres on the front effects the car (it does on a Mk1 anyway), so its important they are matched. Of the measurements given, only toe-in is adjustable on most modern cars. The differences you highlight all look at the limit of measurement accuracy, i.e. nothing to worry about. Quote
lvgal Posted August 8, 2009 Author Report Posted August 8, 2009 All tyres replaced, all angles checked and corrected to within limits and still the steering/handling is awful. It is definitely a problem with pump, rack or computer modules within. Quote
