I have a 2.2tdci manufactured July last year and it has been back and forth to the local dealer 9 times, my fan speed remains at a constant speed of 3 no matter what. First thing in the morning its freezing and even when the car engine has warmed up, still the fans dont go into boost mode to bring the car upto temperature. If i turn the cliamate off and go to manual, speed the fans up to 7 and temp up to about 27 i can get nice and warm, but on auto its useless!!!, I can manually force hot air out of the vents after a 2-3 minutes of the car sttarting, if i leave it to climate nothing happens even at speed 3 for about 12-15 minutes and 6 miles down the road.

Has anyone else got this problem

PS. My car has the DVD sat nav unit with built in climate control and seperate rear system.

Also ive done 6600 miles now and my front tyres are nearing the wear indicators!!! so would guess 8000 miles per set! is this right??

Clearly, if it works under manual control then there is a fault with the climate control system. Take it back to the Dealer and insist that it is replaced under warranty.

On the subject of tyre wear, if the wear is even, i.e. not an indication of suspension problems, etc., then it's probably due to driving conditions and your driving style. Do you do a lot of lower speed, around town type driving? Do you accelerate, brake and corner harder than you could (quite easy to do in this car I'm sure!)? Out of interest what make tyres are fitted?

Car went back into Fords after a year with this problem and after a lot of shouting it now works!!! apparently the programming was not correct. Both the front and rear units work on auto as a triple zone as the book states, lovely and cool when you need it.
