vortexjim Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Hey people , looking for a few ideas because i've currently run out of my own lol... Ok so ive got a 98 2.3 Auto and since i've had it the cruise control has never worked I have so far : Checked all hoses:- hose that connects to the pump was perished but have replaced this, all others were intact. Checked pump functionality: Hot wired the pump which looks as clean as new inside and this worked fine and provided decent suction. Checked brake switch functionality: Working fine.... Checked Stalk switch connection and wires. : reading on another forum i noticed a post where someone had the 2 wires broken where the wires exit the stalk down to the connector on the steering colum . 2 of my wires were showing signs of breaking up and i thought this was the answer... but removed the slider swith top and outer sheath on the stalk and tested all 6 wires from the switch itself to the other side of the connecter on the steering colum ... the'se were all fine... now i'm at a loss... oh also checked under the radio, the silver box that i remember some people talking about all connections seem to be good there...
