Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right section for this question.

Need some help please, recently i have had to jump start my galaxy once a week at least.

Anyway a couple of days ago all my internal electics stopped, i.e. radio, indicator lights heated seat, hazzard , screen heater.

I got various item fixed but the guy who fixed says he needs to get behind the radio to see what's wrong.

could this be right cos i have already checked th fuse which by the steering wheel and thats not blown.

i would be very grateful for some help.

Your battery is obviously losing charge. Has the battery itself been checked?

If that's OK then there must be something draining it while the engine isn't running. Check your interior lights (including glove compartment). It could be a fault with the radio drawing current when it should be off or any of the other vehicle circuits for that matter.

If you're not a confident electrician I would suggest taking it to a good auto electrician who should be able to locate the fault.

at your right knee where the main fusebox is look into the fuses and then look up above the fuses there maybe a few more up there. There was on my petrol and aon the diesel.Change them regardless of whtether they are blown or not.May or may not help.Otherwise off to a lecce to see.But tbh I would change the battery as even if you do locate your prob your batt is probably knackered by know anyway.

The radio does have two feeds. One for holding the radio memory and one for main power. I can't remember the numbers, help somebody. I know it's on the TIS disk wiring layout but can't find my copy at the moment.

There is an overrun pump for the cooling system which can be heard when you switch the engine and electrics off. If this is not shutting down when it should it could be slowly draining your battery. Is the fault more noticeable if you leave the car standing? ie not driven every day. This pump can be found back right of engine compartment. Check this and if not I would suggest a good battery check is needed.
