First of all a big thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to read and assist in my problem :16:

Okay here goes lol

Ford Galaxy Zetec

V plate (2000)

2295cc

My car had been parked up for some 6 weeks during the christmas period and after charging the battery using a power booster, the central locking and electric windows are failing to operate.

Once engine was running and giving it some 20 mins tickover and a few laps around the block to give the battery some charge the drivers side window is stuck in the down position.

The central locking will only operate the door that the key is used in (so not the opossit front door and nor the 2 rear doors) i have checked all the fuses in the compartment by drivers footwell and all seem in good order. I have read in a few posts that there is an issue with water in the footwell (which i have had for some time) :o and central locking but will this affect my windows aswell ??

I have had to dissconnect all the mechanism for the window so i can raise the window so as secure and jam window in uprite position with a plank of wook to keep secure till the morning

Both locks on the front of the car are operating the alarm okay ...

Any advice would be greatly appreciate

Regards

Oh forgot to add i was wondering if theres a shared relay on the locking system that operates both the windows and the locks or are they seperate?

Thing is the windows dont operate when holding key in full lock position (to close front windows from the outside) and nor do they operate by the use of the interior buttons on the doors :o

check the wires where they go into the bulk head, there is a black block,do a search it has been covered many times, iirc the unit works the alarm/central locking and possibly global closure of the windows, but check the wires in the doors first.
