insider Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 The battery is a CR2016. There is no info stored that could be lost during a battery change. Click here for how to change the battery - http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...st&p=137176. There's information on the forum somewhere on how to programme a new key fob, using your existing key. Probably in the FAQ. Quote
gregers Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT LOSE THE PATS CHIP,small black thingy,or your be fooked.ebay is a good source for remotes, make sure you get the correct one all the details should be on the side of your own remote, you can also buy blank keys from there.and take the blank to timpsons who can cut it for you for Quote
mikej Posted January 7, 2009 Author Report Posted January 7, 2009 Cheers both , i shall pick up a new battery tomorrow then look for a spare fob and blankmike.... Quote
seatkid Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 On a Mk1 fob it uses 2 x CR2016 batteries. Quote
Nomolos Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 Mk 2 is the same second batteries under what seems to be the base but is in fact a metal spacer, I am guessing its to improve contact between the batteries. Quote
mikej Posted January 7, 2009 Author Report Posted January 7, 2009 Thanks all , replaced both batteries in fob and all is working well . :46: Quote
