As an owner of a 2006 MKIII Galaxy, I'm loving the fact that I'm rapidly becomming a top tester for ford and paying for the privilidge.

  • DMF replacement, known fault with TSB against it, off the road 5 days
  • 4 injector faults, Wiring loom worn through, known issue with Recall against it, off the road 13 days
  • Coolant pipe failure, worn pipe due to poor routing and clipping. Off the road 1 day
  • Broken armrest, poor design
  • Parking sensor replacement, off the road 1 day
  • Cut finger due to lifted chrome on gear shift
  • Stalling requiring engine recalibration, known fault with TSB against it, off the road 1 day

 

Current issues:-

  • Climate control
  • Occasional over reving when changing gear
  • Occasional selection of reverse gear when selecting reverse
  • Misc uncliped cables, pipes etc.
  • Untraceable coolant leak

 

If you do need to eveoke Ford Customer Services (0845 841 1111) have fun. My recent injector breakdown has meant that I have had to hire a replacement vehicle. Ford do not want to reimberse me for any of this. As a matter of goodwill they can provide a hire car but the caveat is after they have a "diagnosed fault" from the dealership. They will only get this one the car has been fully looked at and in most cases repaired.

Don't get me wrong I like the motor but just feel that the Ford Stealership network nor Ford Customer Services have caught up with the new designs comming off the line

Its not just Ford, as vehicle manufacturers release new cars they are plagued with teething problems, a mate of mine has had his Audi Q7 (brand new) off the road for 3 months out of 8, due to major faults.

But then again I think we can all accept that there might be problems on the way it is just the way these are managed. Washing thier hands of the issues they create is not the best way.

I have an 08 Galaxy (Ford Direct) and this is my first Ford. I'm pretty underwhelmed by the quality of their customer service so far.
