Hi all, can anyone tell me what the small yellow plug on the stereo wiring is for? it seems to join the loom with the speaker wires.

I did notice that when the plug was pulled out there was a sound from the fuse box as though its connected to a relay.

Many thanks Swifty

Yellow plug with just one single purple wire leading into it?

That would be the gala (speed pulse) wire. Necessary for the (VW derived) satnav option on MkII Galaxy's ( but not for satnav in MkI Galaxies as they use the ABS signals). Also used for the automatic volume control that increases Ford radio volume as the car speed increases. If you are not bothered by either function, then it is entirely optional.
