pat19581 Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 got the 2.8 v6 can anyone tell me what workshop manuel covers this engine got the one that covers everything else about the car i think its a vw manuel but what vw has the same engine as the 2.8 (1995 to 20000) Quote
sepulchrave Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Passat, Golf, Transporter Van have the same 174PS 2.8 VR6 engine, the earlier Golfs and Corrados have a mechanically identical engine but with a distributor fitted instead of a coil pack. Do you really need a manual for it, there are no cambelts or any other adjustments to worry about, you just change the oil and filter and drive it until dead (~200k or more). Quote
pat19581 Posted November 28, 2008 Author Report Posted November 28, 2008 yes i got a oil leak it drips down the oil filter had the oil filter and oil change last week but it is still leaking just wanted to c what els might be leaking there Quote
pat19581 Posted December 1, 2008 Author Report Posted December 1, 2008 is the oil pressure switch just above the oil filter as it looks like its leaking from there are they prone to leak and how mutch are they Quote
sepulchrave Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 PTFE Tape is cheaper, and you won't find it mentioned in a manual. ;) Quote
