I have a Galaxy 58 Ghia which came with the new Sony DAB unit as standard. Its a pity i didn't know it would be a DAB unit when i ordered it 5 months earlier because i would have gone for the USB option which the dealer tells me cannot be upgraded afterwards. This means I'm left with having to play a selection of MP3's on a single CD [next time I'm gonna go for the BMW 5 series like everyone else in the office :(]

Since i have the various folders containing the tracks grouped by Artist, i tend have the shuffle CD option enabled so i just get a randomish selection of whatever, and if a track comes on that i don't fancy i hit the next track button and get another lucky dip. The only problem with this is that once the ignition is turned off, the unit seems to forget about the shuffle option, so next time i get in the car it starts playing the tracks sequentially.

I know its not a hugh problem and in some ways i'm thankful that its the only niggle i have with the car. It is damn irritating though. When i had a 57 reg Galaxy demo for a week back in March, it had a similar Sony unit but without the DAB, and i don't think it ever used to forget this setting.

Does anyone else with a Sony DAB unit have the same problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks

Ian
